We are currently seeking an Administrative Assistant to join the dynamic team at the Department of Medicine's Division of Infectious Diseases. In this role, you will have the exciting opportunity to contribute to the management of the AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG), a prestigious cooperative group funded by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and other esteemed NIH Institutes and Centers, as well as industry partners. As part of the ACTG, an international and multicenter clinical trials network focused on advancing therapeutics in HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and viral hepatitis, your role will be crucial in coordinating the research and clinical trials infrastructure. You will work closely with experts in the fields of virology, immunology, pharmacology, mycobacteriology, specimen banking, clinical trials design, clinical trials data management, and new drug and laboratory testing regulatory affairs. Under the guidance of the Executive Director of the ACTG Leadership and Operations Center (LOC) and the Meeting Planning Coordinator, you will play an integral part in providing essential administrative support to the team. This will include general administration tasks, travel and meeting planning, as well as compliance support to ensure the successful achievement of our research mission. You should be able to take initiative, effectively utilize available resources, and follow through on tasks to completion. Required: * Flexibility to occasionally work overtime as needed to complete projects. * Ability to travel 3-5 times per year to ACTG meetings * Knowledge of NIH Grants Policy Statement; Federal travel regulation. * Writing skills to compose documents that are clear, concise, logical and written with proper syntax and grammar. * Experience working with databases including data access, searching and organization. * Skill in working independently, following through on assignments with minimal direction setting priorities which accurately reflect relative importance of tasks. * Strong organizational skills to formulate and compete vigorous timelines. * Strong interpersonal skills. * Must be able to make independent effective decisions in appropriate situations. * Must be a motivated self-starter with an extreme attention to detail and data accuracy. * Ability to download data and research information from the Internet.
