POSITION SUMMARY The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) will provide quality anesthesia service for the hospital; maintain proper equipment, supplies and agents to assure a safe, efficient delivery of care; and interface with other hospital departments for purposes of continuing education, quality assurance and budget management.
ACCOUNTABILITY The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist is accountable to first the Medical Director of Anesthesiology Department and second to the Chief Executive Officer.
INTERRELATIONSHIPS Works closely with medical staff, clinical staff, and support staff of Weeks Medical Center. EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate from an approved school of nursing. Current NH license as a Registered Nurse.
- Graduate from nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the ANNA Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Program or its predecessor. Current NH license as a ARNP.
- Successfully complete the certification examination administered by the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists or its predecessor.
- Comply with biennial recertification as defined by the AANA Council on Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists.
- Current PALS, BLS and ACLS certification.
