Responsibilities:
- Schedule surgeries and procedures for patients
- Coordinate with surgeons, and hospital staff to ensure smooth scheduling and preparation
- Manage patient information and medical records related to surgeries
- Communicate with patients to provide pre-operative instructions and answer any questions or concerns
- Collaborate with insurance companies to obtain necessary authorizations for surgeries
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date schedules and records of surgical procedures
Experience:
- Previous experience as a surgery scheduler or in a similar role is preferred
- Insurance knowledge/background
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures related to surgery scheduling
- Proficiency in using ER systems and phone systems for scheduling purposes
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, medical staff, and insurance companies
