We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Supplier Quality Development Engineer within our Quality team in Berndorf. Our automotive products fall into three primary groups: Seating and Lumbar support, Motors and Actuators, and Mechanical Cables. As a Supplier Quality Development Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work directly with our suppliers, to ensure maximum quality is upheld throughout the different stages of the process. You will also work very closely with multiple different functions across the business.
What will you be doing as a Supplier Quality Development Engineer?
- Main interface from the project team to the supplier regarding progress and quality
- Conduct supplier selection approval- and quality audits according to VDA 6.3
- Collaborate with Engineering, Purchasing and Supplier to come to agreed requirements and feasibility commitment for the critical components
- Initiate and track APQP process at the supplier including kick-off and reviews on site
- Conduct escalation process at the supplier in case of insufficient progress or deviations
- Complete supplier PPAP review and approval
- Get branch Quality approval before supplier PPAP approval
- Execute all supplier development-related quality tasks
- Provide required support during SOP phase +90 Days
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- In-depth technical education
- Approx. 5 years relative experience within IATF 16949 and VDA 6.3
- Advanced knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001
- In-depth knowledge of APQP
- In depth knowledge of Quality tools (8D, MSA, SPC, FMEA, PPAP)
- Technical expertise and analytical skills
- Fluency in English, oral and written
- Very good knowledge of MS Office
- Willingness to travel
- Well-developed interpersonal and organizational skills
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
