Job Overview:
Mama Shelter Los Angeles is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Food and Beverage Director to lead our Food and Beverage department. The Food and Beverage Director will oversee and manage the entire Food and Beverage operations at Mama Shelter Los Angeles, ensuring that the highest standards of quality and service are met.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve departmental goals and objectives
- Manage daily Food and Beverage operations, such as guest service, product quality, cost control, marketing, budgeting, policies, and meetings.
- Manage inventory and control costs related to product and labor
- Lead and manage the F&B team, fostering a positive work environment and maintaining a strong leadership presence
- Stay up-to-date on current trends and have in-depth knowledge of the restaurant industry
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, food safety, and alcohol awareness standards
- Assist with completing daily, weekly, and monthly management administrative duties, including operations reports, financial documentation, human resources/staff management paperwork, standard operating procedures, safety and sanitation checklists, and ordering and inventory documentation
- Lead and actively participate in team meetings
- Collaborate with the Mama Shelter leadership team to uphold and embody the Mama Spirit
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of proven work experience as a Food and Beverage Director or similar role
- Proven customer service experience as a manager
- Strong leadership, motivational, and people skills
- Strong financial management skills
- Expertise with POS systems
- Ability to work in multiple food and beverage environments, including all Mama Shelter outlets
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Team player with a can-do attitude
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced and high-volume environment
