Administers anesthesia under the supervision of the Attending Anesthesiologist administers local inhalation intravenous and other anesthetics prescribed during surgery deliveries or other medical procedures. Institutes resuscitative procedures throughout the hospital including the recovery roo m and is available at all times while on duty.

Requirements:
Graduate of an approved program of nurse anesthesia accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Program
1+ years experience
Registered Nurse - NH State
Board Eligible or certified by the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists
CPR with AED within 6 months of hire

Major Responsibilities:
Review the pre-anesthetic evaluation and confirm the physical status assigned to the patient; review the anesthetic plan assigned to the patient. Consult with the responsible anesthesiologist should questions arise regarding a change in the patient's status.
Ensure the safety; availability; functionality; and cleanliness of all anesthesia equipment (including resuscitation equipment) prior to use.
Personally perform and manage general; conduction and monitored anesthesia care as assigned and directed by the anesthesiologist directing or supervi sing the anesthesia care.
Monitor the patient's physiological vital signs in accordance with the criteria as referenced in the American Society of Anesthesiologists Standards for Basic Anesthetic Monitoring (last amended October 2003).
Consult an anesthesiologist immediately should there be a significant change in either the patient's physiologic status or anesthetic plan.
Complete and accurately record all pertinent information on the Anesthetic Record; Anesthesiology Division Quality Improvement Screen and Anesthesia Charge Sheet.
Accompany the patient to the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) following the patient's emergence from anesthesia. Report to the PACU nurse the patient's physiologic status and all other pertinent clinical information. Remain in the PACU with the patient until the PACU nurse has discharged the patient care obligation.
Assist with cleaning and stocking all anesthesia equipment at the end of each day in accordance with Hospital an d Anesthesiology Department policy and/or at the direction of Practice Management. Maintain appropriate levels of anesthesia supplies on all anesthetizing carts and machines daily as directed by Practice Management.
Assist in the preparation and maintenance of administrative reports as directed by Practice Management. Complete incident reports as required by the Hospital or Core.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief CRNA; Medical Director; or Administrative Director.
