This would be a primarily single coverage position, with some double coverage during busy times during day shifts (730am-730pm) in a 10 bed department that sees about 13k per year. This is a level 2 trauma center which transfers about 15 cases per month to tertiary centers for severe trauma, cardiac catheterization, and intensive care or psychiatric issues.

There are a typical mix of patients for a rural community access hospital, perhaps 20% pediatrics. There are 25 beds available based on the community access rules. They have on call medical, surgical, pediatric, OB/GYN, and frequently some subspecialists such as oral surgery, urology, podiatry, and ENT. Psychiatry services are handled through a community based provider (Northern Human Services). Other services are often obtained through Maine Medical Center for consultation or questions, and for transfer if needed.
